Fire and Life Safety America was founded in 1997. In the first week of business, the company didn't have a permanent headquarters, so the five member employee team met in a Richmond, Virginia McDonald's. Today, the company is headquartered in Richmond, has nearly 1,000 employees, and 12 offices in 5 states, spanning the region from Maryland to Florida to Texas.
Since inception, FLSA has grown into one of the top life safety companies in the nation, leading the industry with ISO (International Standards Organization) and UL (Underwriters Laboratory) certifications.
Our company has been consistently recognized in the life safety industry for maintaining excellence through rapid growth and development. FLSA’s combination of experience and service enable us to reach our ultimate goal: Provide the highest quality fire protection services possible to protect lives and property.
Since 1997, East Coast Fire Protection has joined with Southeast Fire Protection, Affordable Fire Protection, Fire Watch Services, Elite Fire Protection, Texas Southwest Fire Protection, and Universal Sprinkler to create one of the leading fire protection and life safety groups in the country.
As a result, we began the process of changing our name from East Coast Fire Protection to Fire & Life Safety America—a name that more accurately reflects our full geographic footprint. The name change is an acknowledgement of the size, strength, and diversity of the entire Fire & Life Safety America group—making “FLSA” the cornerstone of our branding nationwide.
